What to do, in order
- 01Confirm your bandRevenue means gross income in your most recent accounting period. Your accountant can confirm it in minutes.
- 02Choose an Accredited Service ProviderPick one from the Ministry of Finance's pre-approved list and sign before your deadline. Both senders and receivers of e-invoices need one.
- 03Clean your customer and supplier recordsLegal names, addresses and Tax Registration Numbers (TRNs) must be right on every invoice.

Questions owners ask
What is UAE e-invoicing?
Instead of sending PDF or paper invoices, businesses send structured electronic invoices through an Accredited Service Provider, which also reports them to the tax authority. It applies to invoices and credit notes between businesses, and between businesses and government.
When does it start for small businesses?
Businesses with revenue under AED 50 million must appoint an Accredited Service Provider by 31 March 2027 and start e-invoicing on 1 July 2027. Larger businesses go first: provider by 31 July 2026, live on 1 January 2027.
What counts as revenue for the AED 50 million test?
Gross income in your most recent accounting period.
Does it apply if I only sell to consumers?
Sales to consumers are out of scope. But businesses that receive e-invoices from their suppliers also need a provider, so most small businesses should plan for the same dates. Ask your tax adviser.
Is Substrate an accredited e-invoicing provider?
No. Substrate keeps your invoices, customers and TRNs clean and structured so they are ready for the accredited provider you choose. Pick your provider from the Ministry of Finance's pre-approved list.
